Synopsis
A look at the lives of four vampires who lived together on Staten Island for over a century. Jemaine Clement and What We Do in the Shadows at the SXSW Film Festival; The actors told who wants to appear on the show as a guest. All of the main vampire characters, with the exception of Colin Robinson, wear custom-made vampire fangs that attach to their teeth. This was done so that traditional dentures would not interfere with their speech or pronunciation.

You’re Dead, written by Norma Tanega and amp; Norma Phyllis Katzer Performed by Norma Tanega [theme music; plays during the opening credits of the show]. Four vampires and their friend live in one house in Staten Island, New York. It turns out that vampires also have household problems. “What we do in the shadows” was released in 2014.
the folksy understated humor that is New Zealand’s trademark
Jermaine Clement (“Flight of the Concorde”) and Taika Waititi (“Boy”, “Wild Man”, “Eagle”) acted as co-authors of the script and director. vs. Shark, Jojo Rabbit) was terrific: with wonderfully understated humor, sharp dialogue, and a clever plot, it was weirdly funny and smart without being stupid or even trying too hard. The film was set and filmed in Wellington, New Zealand.
I have nothing to worry about
When I found out that the series was set in the USA, I wondered if it would match the film, because I thought that it was hijacked by American producers and screenwriters. Clement and Waititi are executive producers and head writers, so although the setting has changed, the creative geniuses of the film are still behind the series. The series largely reflects the same whimsical, understated humor of the film, but with different characters and cast, and the new players are unmistakably recognizable. It’s not exactly the same as the film: the film seemed more open (as if it was filmed by a documentary film crew), which gave it some edge, but five seasons later there’s not much to choose between them.

the series is good, as always, which shows that the authors haven’t run out of ideas yet. The series also has a long-term storyline, which makes it even more interesting. The last season of the series “What we do in the shadows”; – one of the biggest television and radio premieres this month.
